"We've dropped a new track, but we don't know where to find it."- Jill
BAND (or NME) is a comedy by Olivia Gillman about a band waiting for a local journalist in a garage. Having graduated they can't afford to move to London so they're stuck at their mum's in the countryside. Most members are a natural fit in the band: except protagonist Jill who wears a tea towel on her head at NME shoots to be EDGY.
A 20 min version debuted at the Downing College, Cambridge Festival of New Writing in 2016. A 60 minute version of the text went on to be shortlisted for the Footlights' Harry Porter Prize.
The play was developed for a performance at The ADC Theatre in Cambridge from the 15th to 18th of February, 2017.
